About the role

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.

Waymo's People team recruits and supports the world's best talent (including, we hope, you). Our HR business partners, program administrators, staffers, and compensation specialists help our employees attain their full potential in a healthy, considerate and supportive environment.

In this hybrid role, you will report to the Head of Talent Acquisition.

You will lead the design and delivery of strategic sourcing plans for top engineering talent, grounding every decision in deep market insight. The scope includes managing a team, scaling a continuous intelligence program, and driving AI-first workflow transformation to solve complex, repeatable process bottlenecks and advise executive leadership on headcount and site planning.

You will:

  • Lead the overall design and delivery of strategic sourcing plans for engineering roles, partnering with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage, coach, and set performance expectations for a team of Sourcers and Sourcing Managers, while ensuring strong data integrity.
  • Formalize and scale a continuous intelligence program, including structured talent mapping and maintaining a pipeline of pre-qualified prospects for critical profiles.
  • Lead AI and workflow transformation by driving the use of platforms like AI Studio and Gemini in Workspace to accelerate research, enrichment, and drafting workflows.
  • Track detailed sourcing metrics (ROI, funnel performance, productivity) and leverage real-time analytics to deploy strategic intelligence packages to unblock critical searches.
  • Act as a Strategic Advisor to leadership by embedding market supply, difficulty, and timing data into headcount and site planning discussions.

You have:

  • 10+ years of extensive technical recruiting/sourcing experience, including proficiency with ATS and CRM systems.
  • 8+ years of relevant people management experience at scale, with demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex group of senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with metrics, numbers, and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

We prefer:

  • Proven ability to drive complex strategy and practical implementation simultaneously, acting as a self-starter who gets things done.
  • Expertise in leveraging Google AI Integration and building custom, policy-compliant automations to accelerate workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Ability to formalize and scale a continuous intelligence program, delivering proactive sourcing insight and structured talent maps.
  • Experience running internal learning series to equip TA and hiring teams on new channels and curate the best AI tools/prompts.
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability, identifying opportunities and galvanizing dependencies across the organization to fix issues comprehensively.
