Your Opportunity as the HR Coordinator / Labor Scheduler (full time, non-exempt)
Core responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 1) Preparing and administering the weekly plant labor schedule, coordinating labor assignments, bid tracking, awarding, and posting, hourly training administration, employee qualification tracking, manages the employee training database, prepares new hire training documentation. 2) HR duties include managing hourly employee vacation scheduling, processes unemployment claims, maintains personnel files, work with team on employee product purchase program, assist with tracking employee attendance program and preparing attendance disciplines, assist with new hire process and orientation duties. Daily interaction with employees, union representatives, and management staff is required.
Location: Buffalo, NY manufacturing plant

In this role you will:
- Assessing departmental labor needs based on production scheduling/planning and creates production labor schedule for facility.
- Organizes and schedules employees weekly to each department based on qualifications and employee availability.
- Coordinates plant postings for weekend overtime signup, voluntary layoff program, and daily overtime.
- Coordinates and attends hourly management/union training/labor committee meetings.
- Manages assignment, training, and qualifications for Production.
- Provides reports to Senior HR Leader and Payroll on employees “out of work”.
- Works with payroll to help manage attendance program by tracking hourly employee daily attendance, generating attendance disciplines, and providing monthly attendance reports.
- Monitors, tracks, and reviews hourly vacation requests. Determines hourly employee’s vacation eligibility and maintains database to track single vacation days, personal days, and perfect attendance days.
- Works closely with payroll to ensure vacations are properly documented and approved prior to payment.
- Monitors weekly vacations to determine and plan for labor scheduling needs. Responsible for maintaining the training database and ensuring the proper completion of all hourly training. Ensures all employees records are kept up to date.
- Ensures all hourly training and qualifications are input into the system and records are accurate. Also, maintains employee seniority lists. Generates training reports on an as needed basis.
- Administers hourly employee job bidding process. Post and awards bids. Schedules employees for bid training. Ensures weekly training evaluations are done. Maintains qualification and evaluation sheets to ensure appropriate documentation is submitted and approved.
- Creates and maintains all personnel and medical files.
- Assist team for the administration of the Employee Product Purchase Program including delivery of product.
- Assists, as needed, with HR projects including, but not limited to: plant celebrations, employee recognition, communications, and meeting coordination.
- Compensation range: $48,500 - $69,300 annualized ($23.32 - $33.32 per hour)

Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Labor scheduling experience in a manufacturing facility
- Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Programs
- Ability to multi-task in a high paced HR environment with excellent communication and organization skills
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
- Prior HR experience
- Experience working in a union facility
- Bachelor's degree
- Degree in Business or Human Resources
- Experience with Workday
