Job scope:

The Head of Complex Proposals - Comminution is a critical role within the Spares & Modernisation service business line The role leads a team of dedicated and talented individuals across the globe who are tasked with managing and delivering high quality proposals that are integral to the success of FLS’ complex spare parts, and modernization offerings in the crushing, milling, pyro and feeding product lines.

Your responsibilities

Lead and govern the development of high-value proposals for complex spare parts and modernization (upgrades, rebuilds and retrofits), ensuring delivery of competitive, compliant, and high-quality proposals that meet customer requirements, protect margin and define the customer value proposition.

• Own proposal strategy & delivery for complex opportunities, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and financial targets

• Define winning approaches including, support bid/no bid decisions value positioning, scope clarity, and commercial strategy

• Lead, coach, and develop the proposal team, setting clear performance expectations and creating a high-performance culture

• Act as escalation point for high-risk, complex, or strategic proposals

• Coordinate cross-functional inputs to ensure aligned scope, cost, risk, and commercial terms by managing stakeholders delivering input to the proposal

• Ensure proposal quality and governance, including review and approval of content, pricing, and risk positions

• Drive strong risk and opportunity management throughout the proposal phase

• Ensure effective customer-focused messaging and professional proposal structure

• Define the project execution plan as part of complex proposal development

• Own standardization of tools, templates, and ways of working across proposals

• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, consistency, and win rate

• Enable structured handover from proposals to execution teams

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, or a related field.

• Knowledge of FLS product technologies

• Experience in the delivery of complex proposals for a engineering company

• Ability to work under deadline pressure and while being adaptable to changing priorities

• Attention to detail

• A technical and commercial mindset

• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders across the organization

• Proven experience in managing large filing and data systems

• Proactive in communication and problem-solving

• Demonstrated experience in leading and working with diverse, multi-cultural teams and environment
