The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for a Senior Level Field Service Engineer (SATCOM/Network) to support a position in Northern Virginia (Fairfax). Up to 50% travel is required both CONUS/OCONUS for this position. Travel to conflict/war zones may be required.
The Field Service Engineer will deploy, install, and maintain servers, routers, switches, telecommunications/SATCOM systems, UPS systems, and desktop PC hardware in support of customer IT infrastructure and enterprise operations.
Responsibilities:
As the Field Engineer you will be responsible for:
Apply the Sponsor’s project management model for development and installation efforts; and provide build, testing, analysis, deployment, and troubleshooting/lifecycle support for innovative hardware/software/ network systems and applications.
Support the procurement of required equipment or components to support the build-out of communications systems; uncrating, set up and build-out of new equipment.

Hardware and software configuration, system integration, and testing of built packages, pack-out and shipment of completed packages.
System integration and testing of built packages, preparation of customer system documentation, conducting site surveys as needed prior to installation, drawings of rack elevations, training of onsite customer personnel on installed packages, test, inspection, verification of all customer communications systems ensuring compliance with COMSEC policies and procedures and project management requirements.
Demonstrated capacity to understand and communicate technical ideas, concepts, and thoughts across multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Required:
Active TS/SCI with Poly
Minimum of 6 years of related experience
Must have the ability to lift, maneuver, and assemble satellite equipment of various weights and sizes.
Must understand satellite signal flow and networking.
Must be willing to travel at least 50%.
General knowledge and experience regarding satellite constellations.
Experience and knowledge of satellite modems.
Experience with fiber-optic transceivers and L-band inter-facility link terminals.
Familiar with test and inspection equipment and troubleshooting techniques for satellite systems
General knowledge of basic TCP/IP theory.
Experience installing and terminating fiber optics and Ethernet cables
Ability to install conduit, ladder racks, demarcation boxes, power runs, breaker panels, breakers, and any other infrastructure needs to support an installation or O&M project.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
