About The Role

The Director, Proposals is accountable for the development of comprehensive proposals and budgets in support of sales. Working in collaboration with subject matter experts and peers, this role will evaluate and standardize business processes and tools for consistency across Altasciences with the goal of generating greater efficiency in sales. Develops and deploys metrics with a focus on team development and ensuring clients receive a high-quality product in a timely fashion. This role is remote.

What You'll Do Here

  • Lead, develop and effectively manage direct reports in alignment with Altasciences values

  • Develop and reinforce harmonized proposal processes across Altasciences, ensuring adherence by key stakeholders

  • Develop and maintain proposal tools and templates in collaboration with stakeholders across the organization

  • Collaborate with operations and sales to ensure quoting tools are aligned with capabilities, including outsourcing requirements, labor rates and projected gross margin

  • Support RFI responses, or other proposal narratives in response to solicitations

  • Collaborate with other business segments to develop cross-sale Proposals

  • Track KPIs and deliver monthly reporting and progress updates related to departmental goals and objectives

  • Evaluate and improve turnaround time of new inquiries and change orders

  • Ensure quotes issued by department follow the study design, established guidelines and processes, rate cards / market pricing, and account specific requirements (templates/mapping) through quality control and ongoing team training

  • Collaborate with Finance on integration of quotes and ERP

  • Maintain a positive, results-orientated work environment, building partnerships with cross-functional departments and creating a team-based culture

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree, and or relevant field experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related industry experience. Two (2) plus years' experience interacting with clients in a scientific environment

  • Two (2) plus years related experience in management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to communicate and negotiate in an effective manner

  • Strong organizational skills involving project management experience

  • Knowledge of RFP lifecycle required

  • Advanced ability to manage/coordinate the RFP/RFI process through influence of stakeholders contributing to the process

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze RFPs, prepare outlines and proposal templates; thorough, detail oriented, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize; the ability to understand and verify compliance

  • The ability to work with teams of varying sizes, technical abilities, and levels of authority

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required

  • Personal/professional integrity and proven discretion in handling confidential information

  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results

  • Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities

  • Must be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation

What We Offer

The salary range estimated for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
