Department Description

The Management Company Accounting team ensures all financial transactions are properly identified, interpreted, analyzed, and reported throughout the organization and to various external stakeholders for measurement and assessment of financial performance.  The team is responsible for ensuring that resources are properly budgeted and allocated throughout the organizations by ensuring risks are properly managed and controls are sufficiently designed and that such firm investments are appropriately strategized to generate sufficient returns and distributions.  The Group collaborates with all aspects of the Firm including strategic corporate investors, partners, BDIR, tax, payroll, operations, legal and compliance, and fund accounting, amongst others.

Position Description

HPS is looking for a bright and motivated individual to join our Mumbai based Management Company Accounting team to work with the Accounts Payable team primarily focusing on all aspects of the Firm’s Accounts Payable function and assisting in the administration of the Firm’s Vendor Risk Management Program. The position will report to the New York based, ED of Accounts Receivable/Payable and work within the Global Controller’s Group

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Work directly with New York-based AP Managers and other HPS Accounts Payable professionals to ensure that all amounts due are verified, processed and paid in an accurate and timely manner including:

    • Verification of invoice authenticity

    • Approval of invoices with HPS vendor managers

    • Accurate processing of invoice data in HPS’s Workday ERP

    • Invoice specific research

    • Payment status updates

    • Vendor communications

    • Construction of accurate and well supported allocation files

    • Verification of supplier details to ensure proper payment processing

    • Supplier analytics

  • Participation in regular team meetings and interactive group chats

  • Work collectively with team to ensure processes are effective in periods of high volume

  • Assist in the improvement of current processes and procedures to enhance controls and efficiency as well as special projects and troubleshooting on an as needed basis

Candidate Profile

  • 4-9 years of relevant Accounts Payable experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field preferred

  • Ability to work New York hours

  • Detail oriented and motivated individual with strong communication skills

  • An inquisitive and curious mindset

  • Demonstrates competency in problem solving

  • Experience with Workday a significant plus

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office a plus
