We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated clinician from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background to join our dynamic team. As an organisation committed to fostering the holistic well-being of our First Nations people, we offer a unique to provide culturally sensitive psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual support to clients and organisations.
This pivotal role involves working directly with clients conducting short-term counselling services. The roles also works within organisations that have a significant First Nations employee base to improve workplace well-being by making culturally informed suggestions to management, facilitating training, and conducting group sessions.
The role assists to drive culturally sensitive mental health and well-being support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, ensuring culturally competent services are delivered to both Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal people. You will also contribute to the designing and delivering of educational training packages for our clients.
Location: the role can be based anywhere but within NSW and QLD are preferred. Travel within the state and interstate is required as part of the role.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in providing mental health and well-being support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, either through direct clinical work or community engagement.
  • Deep understanding of the cultural, historical, familial, and societal factors influencing the mental health of First Nations people.
  • Additional expertise, knowledge, and skills derived from your social and cultural background.
  • Qualifications in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work.
  • Professional registration with the relevant health professional body (AHPRA, AASW, ACA, PACFA).
  • Minimum three (3) years counselling experience.
  • Ability to clinically manage client risk, and clinical presentations while working within a short-term counselling framework.
  • Confidence with computer systems is an asset.
