The Position
The Professional Technical Services team (Field Service Engineering) in Hungary is a dedicated group of experts committed to delivering high-quality engineering and technical solutions in the field of in vitro diagnostics (IVD) . As part of Roche Diagnostics, the team focuses on creating long-lasting partnerships with healthcare providers by ensuring our diagnostic systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards, ultimately supporting reliable patient results across the country.
The Opportunity
As a Technical Services Project Manager and Team Lead, you will play a dual role that balances high-level project execution with people leadership. You will be responsible for ensuring compliant, professional services for our customers while developing a high-performing team of Field Service Engineers.
In this role, you will split your focus between driving complex technical implementations (60-70%) and mentoring your team (30-40%). You will be the bridge between technical excellence and strategic growth, ensuring our laboratory solutions are delivered seamlessly while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
As a Technical Project Manager (60-70%):
You will manage the full project lifecycle for laboratory implementations, from initial tender to handover.
You will conduct on-site technical assessments, develop and execute detailed project plans to meet stakeholder expectations, identify and mitigate risks.
You will oversee the installation of systems, testing, and reagent applications, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within scope.
As a Team Lead (30-40%):
You will lead, coach, and develop a customer-focused, future-ready and high-performing Field Service Engineering team, attract and retain top talent, and foster a continuous learning culture.
You will manage resource planning and workload, oversee the business portfolio (SWA, NPC, M&TD), monitor team KPIs and service data to ensure high-quality technical support for Hungarian customers.
Who you are
Experienced Leader: You have a proven track record in leading and developing teams, with the ability to motivate others and facilitate professional growth.
Technical Expert: You hold a BSc/MSc in Engineering (e.g. Electrical, Mechatronical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, etc) and have 3-5 years of experience in laboratory technology or medical devices.
Project Specialist: You are proficient in project management methodologies and tools, with a focus on delivering outcomes in complex, changing environments.
Strategic Thinker: You possess a growth mindset and the ability to think at an enterprise level, identifying business development opportunities within the healthcare system.
Strong Communicator: You are fluent in Hungarian and proficient in English, with the interpersonal intelligence needed to build sustainable relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Mobile and Flexible: You are willing to work in a field-based environment across Hungary to support our customers where they need us most.
Location: This position is based in Budapest. Relocation Assistance is not available.
