Role Overview:
The Senior Software Engineer, Workforce Systems Integration is a hands-on engineering role responsible for building, integrating, and extending workforce-related SaaS applications. This role brings deep coding expertise and works across multiple technology stacks to enable reliable integrations and deliver light application and custom development where packaged SaaS capabilities need to be extended.
This role partners closely with HRIS Product Management, IT platform teams, and Security to ensure workforce systems (HR, recruiting, contingent labor, and workforce management) are connected, scalable, and fit for enterprise use. In addition to integration engineering, this role may build lightweight internal applications and UI experiences that support workforce operations (e.g., operational tooling, exception management, and admin utilities), using modern full-stack engineering practices with a focus on security, scalability, reliability, and observability.This is a builder and integrator role focused on writing production-grade code, integrating SaaS platforms, developing lightweight custom services, and ensuring integrations are secure, resilient, and observable. This role does not own product strategy, analytics, or enterprise data platforms.
You Will:
Workforce Systems Integration (Primary)
- Design, develop, and maintain custom integrations across workforce and HR SaaS platforms.
- Build API-based, event-driven, and batch integrations; optimize integrations for reliability and performance.
- Partner with HRIS Product Managers, IT platform teams, and Security to ensure integrations are enterprise-ready and aligned to security and privacy expectations.
Lightweight Services & Custom Development (Primary)
- Design and develop lightweight applications, services, and extensions where SaaS tools require augmentation.
- Build custom services for data transformation, business rules, workflow orchestration, exception handling, and operational tooling.
Engineering Excellence & Operational Readiness (Primary)
- Write clean, secure, maintainable code; participate in design and code reviews.
- Implement logging, monitoring/observability, error handling, and automated testing to support resilient operations.
Full Stack Enablement for Workforce Tooling (Supplement)
- Own end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of internal tools that support workforce integrations and operations.
- Write production-ready, testable code across backend services and (where needed) frontend apps; prioritize security, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Investigate failures, propose design improvements, and drive operational excellence; proactively communicate blockers and risks
AI-Enabled Engineering & Automation (Primary + Supplement)
- Use AI-assisted development tools and build AI-enabled or rules-based automations; integrate AI services via APIs and ensure responsible AI usage aligned with enterprise standards
