The HRIS Specialist is a strategic advisor and hands-on expert who serves as the central point for Workday and other HR technology solutions. The role oversees configuration, optimization, and continuous improvement to ensure a stable, scalable, and efficient HR technology environment.
Partnering with HR, IT, and external vendors, the HRIS Specialist delivers system enhancements, resolves complex issues, and provides support for routine inquiries. The role ensures smooth daily operations while driving improvements that enhance the full employee lifecycle.
This role also advances data quality, system governance, and global process consistency, enabling a streamlined, data-driven, and user-centric HR experience.
Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day governance, configuration, and continuous development of Workday and other HR technology solutions.
Lead HRIS improvement and implementation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational needs, global processes, and system governance.
Partner with HR, IT, and external vendors to refine workflows, automate processes, and ensure a stable, efficient, and user-friendly HR technology environment.
Manage system releases and updates across HRIS tools, including impact assessment, testing, communication, and adoption of new functionalities.
Provide expert-level support for complex technical issues and guidance on routine user inquiries.
Safeguard data integrity and compliance, ensuring adherence to data protection regulations.
Generate reports, dashboards, and insights to support operational needs and data-driven decision-making.
Contribute to the standardization, globalization, and scalability of HRIS processes, ensuring consistency and streamlined operations across regions.
Identify and drive opportunities for HR technology optimization, contributing to continuous improvement and enhanced value for the organization.
Relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies
Bachelor’s degree in HR, IT, Management, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience managing and optimizing HRIS systems, including configuration, implementation, support, and process improvement.
Comprehensive knowledge of HRIS systems, with advanced proficiency in Workday.
Proven understanding of end-to-end and global HR processes.
Strong analytical skills with experience in reporting, dashboards, and data quality management.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English, with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Customer-focused with experience providing expert support and promoting user adoption.
Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects and drive change initiatives.
Experience conducting training sessions for HR staff on HRIS usage and best practices.
Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize initiatives to meet business needs.
