Summary Operate and maintain machinery equipped with compressed-air spray nozzles and robots to coat products with paint, cure/bake product, and dump product into bags by performing the following duties,
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Pour premixed paint into reservoir for painting and clean paint reservoir after lot is complete.
- Mix paint to formula or customer specified request.
- Place paint racks onto conveyor or onto transfer table that carries them into machine.
- Mix paints with thinner solution according to formula.
- Monitor robots and quality-inspect robot performance.
- Remove fasteners from the conveyor belt; package and palletize finished product.
- Operate all machine computers.
- Set up pumps, hoses, and spray guns.
- Understand the complete painting process.
- Perform and document daily/preventive maintenance per schedule (cleaning, inspection, lubrication, filter/line checks, and basic adjustments) to ensure safe operation, consistent product quality, and optimal equipment uptime; report abnormal conditions and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Problem-solve by tracking process steps from start to finish.
- Manage and organize spare parts for machine.
- Manual operation of oven.
- Serve as a backup for other paint processes (manual spray painter, dumper, manual paint mixer) and perform other duties as needed.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer/Human Machine Interface (HMI) Skills
Ability to use and confidently move around computer display screens and diagnostics.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The employee must be able to occasionally push/pull a cart with 6” casters that weighs up to 1800 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision and depth perception. Respirator exams are given on an annual basis (or more often if necessary) and must be passed in order to perform this job. Must pass a pre-hire drug screen.
