Job Description

Ready to take on a key role in Europe’s leading power market?

At Nord Pool, you will work at the very core of European energy trading - in a role where you ensure smooth daily operations while also driving improvements that shape the future of the market.

We are now looking for a Clearing Operations Manager who enjoys responsibility, thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to Europe's green transition.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to combine analytical work, stakeholder interaction and project involvement in an international organisation with high ambitions and a clear societal purpose.

About the role

You will play a central role in the Clearing team, balancing operational responsibilities with customer success and project work. The position offers great variety and close collaboration with colleagues across the organisation - particularly within Risk, Markets and towards our members.

Your contribution will be key in ensuring robust financial operations while helping Nord Pool continue its journey to become the preferred marketplace for European power trading.

What will you do?

You will take on a key role combining operational responsibility with project-driven initiatives:

  • Oversee daily clearing and settlement activities, ensuring processes run seamlessly with a strong focus on accuracy, controls, and risk awareness.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of Members’ collateral and exposures, ensuring the company remains financially secure, in close collaboration with the Risk Team.
  • Participate in team rotations, taking ownership of critical processes, supervising operations, and supporting members at a high professional standard.
  • Deliver high-quality customer support, handling complex clearing and settlement inquiries with precision and professionalism.
  • Represent Nord Pool Clearing externally by confidently presenting our services and building trust with prospective members
  • Proactively identify areas or processes to improve and contribute to projects aligned with business priorities.

Who are we looking for?

  • Master’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ professional experience within financial operations, customer success, payment processing or similar areas.
  • Experience working with banks, collateral management, and financial systems.
  • You feel confident communicating in English, both written and spoken.

We think you will succeed in this role if you have:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex topics and drive process improvements and change initiatives
  • A structured and detail-oriented working style, with strong ownership and accountability
  • The ability to deliver excellent customer service while meeting deadlines and operational standards
  • Strong analytical skills and sound independent judgment in a risk-sensitive environment
  • Experience with operational projects or process improvements from planning to implementation, including prioritization of multiple initiatives

We believe you will thrive if you are a proactive, flexible and solution-oriented professional who works in a structured and accurate way, even under tight deadlines. You are service-minded and motivated by improving processes and supporting stakeholders, and you collaborate well across teams while also being comfortable working independently.

Please kindly submit your CV in English.
