Job Description

MongoDB is the modern database platform and consistently ranked the #1 most wanted database by developers. We are trusted by some of the most demanding, innovative companies and development teams in enterprise software.

To support this growth, we are expanding our Solutions Assurance Team as part of the global Industry Solutions Team (IST), a flexible, globally distributed organization. Our mission is to position MongoDB as an optimized platform for AI‑enabled industry solutions and to deeply understand enterprise customers, their business context, and how they can modernize through artificial intelligence and data‑driven architectures.

As an Industry Specialist, you will be at the intersection of technology and business solutions. You will work hands‑on with partner and customer technologies, validate integrations with the MongoDB ecosystem, and translate complex technical concepts into clear, outcome‑driven guidance that resonates with industry stakeholders.

This role is a great opportunity for technologists who want to deepen their expertise in solution design, integration testing, and go‑to‑market enablement while working in a highly collaborative, cross‑functional environment at one of the fastest‑growing technology companies.

What you’ll do at MongoDB

In this role, you will:

  • Validate industry and AI solution integrations between partner software and the MongoDB ecosystem (for example: security tools, backup and recovery, GenAI platforms, IoT/MQTT and streaming solutions), becoming a subject‑matter expert in one or more domains over time
  • Design and execute integration test plans to ensure solutions are robust, performant, secure, and aligned with recommended MongoDB patterns
  • Document your findings and best practices through concise integration guides, technical notes, and background papers, ranging from step‑by‑step instructions with screenshots to deeper architectural overviews
  • Collaborate with the wider Industry Solutions Team to support opportunities across startups and large enterprises, co‑creating solution architectures, industry‑specific demo scenarios, and collateral that accelerates customer success
  • Enable the field and internal stakeholders by explaining integration patterns, constraints, and recommended configurations in clear, non‑jargon language tailored to customer and partner audiences (you will not act as product technical support)
  • Partner with product and program teams by feeding back learnings from integration work, helping improve roadmaps, documentation, and partner programs in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Contribute to internal processes and playbooks, bringing a process‑oriented mindset that improves how we plan, execute, and report on validation work
  • Share knowledge and elevate the team, participating in peer reviews, brown‑bags, and informal mentoring as you grow in the role
  • Enjoy the ride as we continue to scale rapidly and expand our impact with partners and customers around the world

What we’re looking for

As an ideal candidate, you will have

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the technology sector (or equivalent technical experience in other industries), such as software engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, QA / integration testing, or similar roles
  • Demonstrated ability and appetite to learn quickly and adapt to new industries, solution domains, and partner technologies
  • Scripting and/or programming skills (e.g., Python, JavaScript, shell) with a solid grasp of modern application and operational architectures (cloud‑native, microservices, APIs, event‑driven systems)
  • A strong blend of technical depth and communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Foundational understanding of data, analytics, data engineering and/or data science concepts and how they are used to build AI‑enabled solutions (we’ll help you deepen this expertise on the job)
  • Comfort context‑switching across multiple domains (for example, moving from backup and disaster recovery topics in one project to GenAI search and retrieval in another)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and parallel workstreams, keeping projects organized and moving forward
  • A self‑starter mindset, with ownership, curiosity, a
