Location: This is a hybrid opportunity that will require at least 2 days in office per week.
Job Summary
ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)
The Credit Inquiry Team handles requests for both Commercial and Consumer accounts, ensuring that a wide range of needs are met efficiently and accurately. On the commercial side, we take care of all business-to-business account verifications, which play a crucial role in maintaining strong relationships with our partners. We are also responsible for preparing and providing all financial year-end reports to auditors, supporting the transparency and integrity of our operations. For consumer accounts, our functions include processing Social Service requests, assisting with Housing requests, and providing Date of Death balances when needed. Each of these tasks is handled with care to ensure that we meet both regulatory requirements and the needs of the individuals we serve.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Understanding of Loan structure.
- Understanding of ownership of accounts.
- Performs diverse functions and is required to work independently with limited supervision.
- Establish strong relationships with Line of Business Partners to effectively resolve client issues and drive cross functional initiatives to completion.
- Participate in Department projects.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
- Knowledge in LoanIQ.
- Ability to self-manage multiple tasks and orchestrate, organize and prioritize assignments to support needs of the business.
- Review and maintain department procedures.
- Utilizes PC software to prepare correspondence and fulfill functional tasks with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Word/Excel to create efficiencies in the processes performed by the team.
- Possesses the functional and leadership skills that allow for high level, accurate decision making as it relates to processes, compliance risk and client service. Independent decision making in conjunction with legal or regulatory risk.
- Listens to others, speaks effectively uses diplomacy and tact for excellent interactions with the team to assure a cohesive work environment so that as a team, deadlines and service levels are met.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
- Flexible work schedule to meet deadlines
- Strong PC Skills including Microsoft Suite
- Aptitude to write, certify and train team members on department procedures.
- Able to coach team members as they learn their tasks or as errors are uncovered.
- Adaptable to new ideas in a changing environment
- Detail orientated to ensure accuracy in tasks completed
- Ability to identify and escalate risk
- Ability to identify and suggest process improvements
- Minimum 2 years working with a regulatory process, preferably banking operations
- Knowledge of financial operations, preferably with a working knowledge of MBS or CMO securities (used for pledging), paydowns, pricing and security movements.
- Ability to analyze data and make appropriate decisions bases on information
- Proven ability to work independently and within the team, productively, under tight deadlines
- Aptitude to learn and understand financial concepts for a wide variety of products
- Ability to work with all levels of internal/external clients remaining professional and knowledgeable while protecting KeyBank’s monetary risks and confidentiality
- Flexible and maintains composure under stress
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Strong knowledgeable in accounting and regulatory regulations
- Analytical, research and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of fixed income securities
- Prior operational experience
- Can facilitate the disaster recovery plan by working from home as needed.
- Ability to gather and create statistics for department for use in strategic planning.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $18.75 - $25.00 per hour. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.Please click here for a list of benefits for which this position is eligible.
