Job Description
Dietary Aide
General Purpose
The dietary aide assignments are determined by the needs basis on the activity of the shift. He/she reports to the Cook and Dietary supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with meal and snack preparation as directed
- Assemble trays, portion items, and help with meal service
- Deliver meals to halls
- Wash dishes, clean equipment, and maintain sanitation standards
- Stock and rotate supplies using safe storage practices
- Follow food safety guidelines, allergy precautions, and infection control procedures
- Communicate needs, concerns, or changes to the Dietary Manager
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Reliable, team-oriented, and respectful in a resident-centered environment
- Food service experience helpful, training may be provided
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Language Skills
- Ability to read technical procedures.
- Ability to read and follow recipes.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
- Mathematical Skills
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate.
