GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Provides clinical support between patients and physicians.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assesses patients and test results, reviews results with physicians and ensures patient communication regarding results and/or recommendations per physician order. (30%)
- Assesses health status/needs during the ambulatory visit or over the phone using interviewing skills and nursing knowledge. Formulates and communicates an action plan. Implements plan and/or action after discussion with responsible physician. (20%)
- Coordinates and schedules all patient testing including surgeries and coordinate OR schedule. Assess blood work prior to surgery. (10%)
- Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn. (10%)
- Provides clinical support during office hours. (30%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- Nursing School Diploma
Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- 2 years experience in clinical specialty
CPR – American Heart Association
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
- BA/BS Degree
- Experience as an RN in the area of specialty, ambulatory experience, cardiovascular experience, and outpatient setting experience.
- SICU or Surgical experience
