AFS is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale federal IT projects for our client. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and proven experience in managing complex IT initiatives. The IT Project Manager will ensure projects align with client objectives while meeting budget, schedule, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, skilled in project management methodologies, and capable of driving results in a dynamic environment. This is a fully remote role.

The Work:

  • Oversee the execution of large-scale federal IT projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develope comprehensive project plans and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Document and analyze requirements to ensure alignment with client goals.
  • Coordinate engineering tasks and manage deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mobilize projects, establish communication plans, and ensure stakeholder engagement.
  • Implement quality management processes and monitor performance metrics.
  • Allocate resources effectively and manage risks to maintain project health.
  • Monitor project performance, identify issues early, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Lead change management efforts and ensure smooth implementation of project activities.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee contract compliance.

Here's what you need:

  • 5 years experience in a project management role, preferably in a federal environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of software development, infrastructure, networks, and relevant technologies
  • Proficient in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and tools (e.g., MS Project)
  • Experience with risk management, performance monitoring, and quality assurance

Bonus points if you have:

  • Excellent skills in budgeting, resource management, and stakeholder communication
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Familiarity with vendor and contract management processes
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification
  • ITIL Foundation or similar IT service management certification

Security Clearance:

Must have an active Secret clearance
