WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
As we accelerate our SaaS transition, understanding the heartbeat of our product and infrastructure is paramount. This role is a cornerstone of our Observability strategy within the AI & Insights team. By building a robust data ecosystem based on OpenTelemetry and MS Azure Fabric, you will provide the transparency needed to measure our performance and product usage across global financial institutions. Your work will directly enable our future ambitions in AIOps and advanced AI integration, ensuring SimCorp remains a leader in financial technology
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Taking part in Architecting Observability: Lead the design and implementation of our observability data platform using MS Azure Fabric and OneLake.
Standardizing Data: Drive the adoption of OpenTelemetry standards across SimCorp Dimension to ensure consistent monitoring of our SaaS product and global infrastructure.
Engineering Pipelines: Build high-performance, metadata-driven pipelines using Medallion architecture to process high-velocity telemetry data.
Global Leadership: Technical leadership for a cross-functional team across Noida, Warsaw, and Kyiv, ensuring best practices in CI/CD, Git integration, and data governance.
Future-Proofing for AI: Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and data contracts that will serve as the foundation for our upcoming AIOps and AI-driven insights.
WHAT WE VALUE
Core Fabric Architecture
OneLake Mastery: Designing and managing a "Single Source of Truth" using OneLake, including the use of shortcuts to mirror data without movement.
Capacity Management: Understanding Fabric F-SKUs and P-SKUs to optimize performance and control costs.
Workspace Strategy: Implementing robust workspace hierarchies and security boundaries for multi-tenant or multi-departmental environments.
Data Lake & Storage Engineering
Delta Lake Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Delta Parquet format, including ACID transactions, time travel, and vacuuming.
Medallion Architecture: Proven experience building Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers to ensure data quality and lineage.
Storage Optimization: Implementing partitioning strategies and file size optimization to prevent "small file" performance issues.
Integration & Pipelines
Fabric Data Factory: Creating complex, metadata-driven orchestration pipelines for batch and real-time ingestion.
Dataflows Gen2: Leveraging Power Query at scale for low-code data transformation.
Real-Time Intelligence: Integrating Fabric with Eventstreams and KQL databases for high-velocity streaming data.
Advanced Engineering & Programming
Synapse Data Engineering: Writing high-performance PySpark or Scala code within Fabric Notebooks.
T-SQL & Data Warehousing: Advanced SQL skills for managing the Fabric Data Warehouse and Synapse SQL endpoints.
Performance Tuning: Identifying bottlenecks in Spark clusters and optimizing SQL query execution plans.
DevOps, Governance & Leadership
CI/CD & Git Integration: Utilizing Fabric’s native Git integration and Azure DevOps for version control and deployment.
Data Governance: Implementing Microsoft Purview for data discovery, classification, and sensitivity labeling.
Security Architecture: Configuring Row-Level Security (RLS), Object-Level Security (OLS), and Private Links.
