About the role
The IT Specialist is crucial in supporting the IT Manager/Director by systematically resolving networking and hardware issues, identifying network dysfunctions, and maintaining company technical systems. They ensure employees have necessary technology, protect important files, and maintain information security, ensuring the organization's success and the safety of its information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of systems.
- Implement security measures.
- Monitor security certificates and company compliance of requirements.
- Offer technical support to company staff and troubleshoot computer problems.
- Install and update company software and hardware as needed.
- Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer items.
- Additional projects and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE WE'RE SEEKING:
- IT experience for a high volume hotel operation, luxury hotel experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT plus 2 years relevant experience; or Certifications in Cisco CNA, MCSA/MCSE plus 3 years’ experience.
- Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting minimum of four (4) or all of the following products or technologies: Citrix Mainframe, Outlook, Backup Exec, Mitel PBX, Opera PMS, Delphi S&C, Aloha POS, PeopleSoft and other Windows based applications.
- Strong operation skills for Windows 10 & 11, Windows server 2012 & 2016.
- Must be able to configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP networks.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking skills and keen attention to detail.
- Good organization, time management and prioritization skills.
- Efficient troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening.
- Great customer service and interpersonal skills required.
- Must be able to lift, push or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- This position requires a flexible schedule, must be able to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Salary range: $17.00 USD - $20.00 USD per hour
