About the role
This position provides guests with quality customer service by demonstrating excellent knowledge of all menu items. Serve food and beverages to guests in a punctual, courteous, efficient and accurate manner. You'll act as an advocate for the restaurant, be a creator of ridiculously personal experiences, and develop relationships with guests that will compel them to return.
What You’ll Do
- Greet and welcome our guests and promptly attend to tables.
- Receive and take guest orders, process in POS system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and serve meal accompaniments to guests.
- Learn and maintain product knowledge of the food, wine, and beverage menu(s), as well as general restaurant knowledge.
- Ensure that guests have a good time at the restaurant and look immediately into any complaints.
- Perform side work.
- Open bottled wine for guests (wine service).
- Bus and set tables as needed.
- Perform setup and breakdown of various stations (i.e. deli, dessert, coffee, espresso).
- Assist with to-go orders as needed.
- Assist with seating guests and help with answering phones as business demands.
- Must be able to calculate the correct bill amount and use proper credit card and money handling skills.
- Attend all company and restaurant required trainings and meetings.
- Communicate with support staff and management.
What You Bring
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar or supportive role at an upscale/ full service-dining venue is preferred.
- Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certification(s) (if applicable).
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to learn, retain, and present product, menu, and allergy information to guests.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the restaurant POS system is required.
- Must be able to calculate the correct bill amount and use proper credit card and money handling skills.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the restaurant point of sale system is required.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for creating and personalizing guest experiences. Highly motivated and flexible with the ability to take initiative.
- This position requires a flexible schedule, must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary: US $8 to 10 per hour + a share in the gratuity pool
