The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading a diverse team of engineers and other technical specialties to perform technical services in support of operations. This role will encourage safe operations, while influencing decisions that improve the reliability and operability of our pipeline systems and will serve as a specialist in the field for meaningful organizational programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities/Expectations: 

  • Coordinates/troubleshoots moderate and sophisticated issues and challenges the optimization of the Storage Division underground gas storage fleet so the assets become more reliable, safe, and efficient 

  • Supports the measurement, controls/automation, instrumentation, and electrical frontline employee group for the Division 

  • Ensures consistent and accurate budgeting (MCAPEX and OPEX), forecasting, and reporting 

  • Manages the Innovation Management system and balance the MCAPEX budget for the Storage Division, making budget adjustments as necessary using methodologies provided by management 

  • Prepares optimum underground gas storage facility and pipeline solutions that increase value over the life of the assets 

  • Develops, implements, and improves tools, processes, procedures, and metrics that enable operations to optimize facility or gathering system operation, increase reliability and safety, and control costs 

  • Supports and implements continuous improvement initiatives, partnering with the underground gas storage team to find ways to better utilize the facilities 

  • Develops and leads highly performing work teams 

  • Supports business and project development initiatives as directed by the Manager Gas Storage 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Education/Years of Experience: 

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; a minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience or three (3) years of engineering experience with at least one year in Gas Storage surface facilities engineering 

  • Preferred: Previous leadership experience 

Other Requirements: 

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills  

  • Ability to analyze, develop and implement process improvements, documentation and reports 

  • Experience in providing fit-for-purpose solutions, minimizing the maximum amount of risk in the most cost effective way possible 

  • The ability to make difficult decisions using technical decision making and soft skills to explain the why to those affected by the outcome 

 

Travel/Shift Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% - 50% of the time
