POSITION OVERVIEW

The Operations Relationship Manager (ORM) provides operational leadership and support for strategic distribution partners within the IMO and IBD channels. this role is accountable for fostering strong partnerships while aligning internal teams to deliver a seamless and efficient operational experience.

The ORM serves as the primary operational point of contact for assigned firms, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance partner experience, improve processes, and drive adoption of key initiatives.

The ideal candidate demonstrates accountability, collaboration, strong relationship management skills, and the ability to influence outcomes across a matrixed organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Operations Relationship Manager is responsible for driving implementation, management, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the firm experience by:

  • Serving as the primary operational relationship owner for a defined portfolio of IMO and IBD partners
  • Educating internal stakeholders on firm-specific guidelines, process flows, and platform optimization opportunities
  • Leading onboarding of new firms and managing ongoing operational engagement
  • Leveraging data and insights to identify trends, inform strategy, and influence both internal and external decision-making
  • Driving cross-functional alignment across Operations, Sales, Technology, and Service teams to support firm priorities and initiatives
  • Leading change management efforts to support adoption of digital capabilities, process enhancements, and strategic initiatives
  • Facilitating research and coordination for highly complex or executive-level issues, ensuring appropriate visibility and resolution
  • Aligning firm strategic priorities with internal roadmaps, projects, and tactical requests
  • Executing annual and ad-hoc firm business reviews and engagement meetings
  • Monitoring key performance indicators to assess and improve partner experience, efficiency, and operational outcomes

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; life insurance designation preferred
  • Five (5+) or more years of progressive relationship management experience and five (5+) or more years of operational or sales leadership experience within the insurance or financial services industry
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Proven ability to influence outcomes and drive alignment across cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into actionable solutions
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to self-manage, prioritize, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative and matrixed environment
  • Occasional travel required
