Associate Data Scientist

What’s the role

This role is a stakeholder-facing role accountable for creating NFR pricing data science artefacts. The expectation would be to work in workstreams with Global NFR Pricing lead, write efficient code and build models deploying industry best practices, and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions. You will work with data scientist or lead to utilize Gen AI prompts for business use cases, be comfortable & motivated to do analysis across DIPP (Descriptive, Inquisitive, Predictive & Prescriptive) spectrum, and adhere to MCDS quality standards, ensuring compliance with security, ethics, and model governance requirements.  

What you’ll be doing

• Gather requirements from different stakeholders on regular basis along with the data scientist and work with them to translate them into technical tasks

• Ensure timely communication and course correction for all tasks 

• Be the point of contact for your workstreams 

• Be able to tie business use cases to analytical solutions 

• Explain technical Machine learning & AI solutions to non-technical stakeholders 

• Support all Current & Future Analytical tools across different areas of Business (including but not limited to):  ​

• Pre- Post & Test Control analysis  

• Create Power BI dashboards and bespoke reports 

• Root Cause Analysis for business performance  

• Detecting patterns & generating insights for specific business use cases 

• Price Benchmarking analysis – knowledge of indexing and benchmarking 

• Predicting impact of Price changes to demand of product 

• Various Optimization of the price points for a given business objective 

• Simulation: Implementing various simulation Tech to create a pricing simulation engine 

• Work with data scientist & lead to generate insights across the 5Ps (Performance, Product, Promotions, Pricing & Placement) in collaboration with other teams   

• Exploratory data analysis – Have the business & technical knowledge to be able to perform exploratory analysis in databricks for different initiatives within NFR 

• Have a deep understanding of the NFR business especially NFR Pricing 

What you bring

• 3+ years in Power BI, SQL & Data Analysis with preffered experience in Python & Databricks

• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python ,Databricks , Machine Learning and Retail business  

• Good to have experience with stakeholder management & understanding of Retail KPIs 

• Knowledge of Generative AI (how to use)  - Prompt Engineering and basic knowledge of agentic AI 

• Knowledge of Pretrained LLMs on how to use for text matching 

• Very strong knowledge of ML, regression, Clustering analysis and other predictive techniques 

• Hands on with Web-scraping tech 

• Very strong knowledge of statistical analysis and Price Elasticity 

• Good to have – PowerBi 

• Be able to connect & make sense of different data sources resting in different systems & files   

• Diligently follow Quality Assurance processes and help in improving them 

• Work with Data scientist & Lead to accurately assess different business use cases and then break them down into smaller problems  

• Estimate effort involved in projects and be comfortable to work in an agile fashion 

• Follow & Uphold MCDS guidelines for projects including Technical audits
