The Opportunity:
As the Talent Development Business Partner, you will act as a strategic partner across the organisation, driving capability building, performance uplift, and workforce development aligned to business growth priorities. Working closely with leaders, you will translate business strategy into targeted learning and development solutions, proactively identify capability gaps, and support organisational change through an insight-led approach.
This role plays a key part in embedding a culture of continuous learning and ensuring capability development enables strong performance, engagement, and long-term business success.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity and can be based in any major city across Australia.
The successful candidate must be eligible to hold a AGSVA security clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and support a people-centric Learning and Development function that delivers a consistent and engaging experience for employees and leaders
- Partner with business leaders and the People team to develop capability plans aligned to workforce priorities, strategy, and emerging trends
- Identify and address critical capability gaps impacting business performance through targeted learning interventions
- Design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality learning solutions tailored to a diverse, multi-location workforce, ensuring accessibility and inclusion
- Drive operational excellence across L&D governance, processes, program design, delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement
- Leverage learning technologies and innovation (including digital platforms, AI, RPA, and external vendors) to enhance scalability and learner experience
- Manage and maintain the Learning Management System, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance of learning activities
- Support organisational change, onboarding, and early career development through targeted training needs analysis and capability uplift initiatives
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Essential:
- Degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline
- Strong experience in Learning and Development and/or Human Resources
- Experience in a similar role within a complex or global organisation
- Demonstrated experience designing, delivering, and facilitating training programs, including competency and capability frameworks and learning experiences
Desirable:
- Experience in a Human Resources Business Partner role
- Proven track record of delivering successful learning and capability interventions
- Experience with HRIS systems, particularly Workday
- Experience within the Australian Defence or Government sector
