Our location in Alameda, California, currently has an opportunity for a Senior Director, Customer Innovation and Product Management. This critical role leads the Innovation and Product Management team within Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) in identifying, evaluating, defining and advancing new products and programs from conception through engineering specification. This position provides strategic input into the development and execution of strategic plans to enhance the division’s products, digital apps and services.
What You’ll Work On
- Provide strategic input into long-range strategies and forecasts for pipeline products, digital apps, services, programs and partnerships.
- Keep management aware of developments and maintain buy-in throughout the collaborations process while ensuring that coordination and communication occur at all stages.
- Make specific actionable recommendations to Division executive leadership on strategic opportunities to maximize the product portfolio.
- Investigate, recommend and implement new product introductions into the business portfolio.
- Deeply understand user needs and journeys based on customer insights / UX research to design products with customer centric approach
- Assess benefit/risk of all opportunities to present a full analysis of all new innovation strategies including partnerships, in-house R&D and etc.
- Communicate progress, opportunities and risks associated with the implementation of product launch plans to Senior Staff.
- Participate in product development reviews and design control activities.
- Work closely with R&D directors, Global Marketing, and Global Market Insights to coordinate commercialization plan with product development plan.
- Provide inputs to clinical studies l studies to achieve necessary proof for publications, reimbursement and HCP acceptance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering or basic science discipline.
- 10 years relevant business experience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and management experience.
- Must have a sound understanding of the markets and should have analytical and extrapolative thinking and influencing skills.
- This position must have broad, in depth understanding of the division’s technical operations and commercial operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Advanced degree.
- Experience leading and/or working closely with product management, UX design and UX research utilizing agile processes.
- Experience marketing in a highly regulated industry.
- Able to achieve results while dealing with ambiguity and a rapid pace of change.

The base pay for this position is
$218,700.00 – $437,300.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
