About this Position

The Cash Processing Clerk independently processes daily cash and check transactions using an RPS machine. This role is responsible for accurate balancing, basic discrepancy resolution, and compliance with established cash handling and check disbursement procedures. The position requires minimal supervision and a strong working knowledge of internal controls.

This is an 100% onsite position at our corporate office in Duluth, Georgia.

Candidates must live in Metro Atlanta Area

Scheduled is Mon - Fri 7am -4pm

Salary amount: $42k negotiable based on skills

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Cash Handling & RPS Operations

  • Independently operate the RPS machine to count, process, and validate cash
  • Receive, verify, and record daily cash from stores or departments
  • Balance cash totals and RPS reports with a high degree of accuracy
  • Identify, document, and report cash shortages or overages
  • Prepare deposits and change orders according to established procedures

Check Disbursements

  • Process check disbursements only after required approvals are obtained
  • Prepare and distribute checks per company procedures
  • Secure blank check stock and maintain accurate check logs
  • Assist with tracking and documentation of outstanding, voided, or reissued checks

Controls & General Duties

  • Follow internal controls, security, and confidentiality requirements
  • Maintain a clean, secure, and organized cash and check handling area
  • Meet daily processing deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Assist with audits by providing accurate documentation and explanations
  • Escalate discrepancies, system issues, or exceptions to a supervisor as needed

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–2 years of experience in cash handling, payment processing, or related clerical work
  • Demonstrated ability to balance cash independently
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Ability to follow established procedures with minimal oversight

Work Conditions

  • Hourly, non‑exempt position
  • May require standing, sitting, or light lifting
  • Work performed in a secure cash‑handling environment
