Environmental Scientist

Our Northeast Division is seeking a dynamic Environmental Field Scientist to join our Glastonbury, CT or Providence, RI office. You'll be joining a well-respected and award-winning group where career development, training, and mentoring co-exist with diverse civil, environmental, water resources, and traffic/transportation projects in a fast-paced and rewarding work environment

Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Field Scientist:

• Collect field samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and drinking water. 
• Provide oversight of site investigation and characterization, as well as contaminated site remediation. 
• Collect stormwater samples from municipal and private facilities in CT. 
• Prepare field notes, photographs, and perform analysis and interpretation of field and analytical data. 
• Prepare technical reports and conduct ASTM Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments. 
• Support emergency response services, communicate and collaborate with others, manage workloads and records, implement health & safety policies, and travel to different project sites. 

What we're looking for:

• BA/BS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving history and reliable transportation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other widely used computer programs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent technical communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and maintaining an excellent safety record
• Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced environments and manage workloads efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a similar environmental or field‑based role
• Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs) experience
• Connecticut or Massachusetts stormwater sampling and reporting experience
• 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders and lift up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 90%
• Availability for infrequent night and weekend work
