About the Role:

Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting in the development of training curriculum and aids in the delivery of training to revenue cycle staff (to include new hire classes and ongoing education). Additionally, this position will perform and maintain the quality assurance process for all areas of Revenue Cycle assisting both the team members and management team in achieving accuracy goals. The Revenue Cycle Educator also serves as a liaison for all customers they serve to troubleshoot and resolve Revenue Cycle system issues.

  • Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum Experience: Minimum of three (3) years Revenue Cycle experience. Training experience required.

Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intense working knowledge of the overall flow of Revenue Cycle operations

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively  

  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.  Strong facilitation/training skills to include a high level of professionalism 

  • Ability to work successfully and efficiently both independently and within a team

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Leads and assists, as appropriate, in the development, coordination, and implementation of classroom-based, departmental, and individual education and training for the Revenue Cycle Division.

  • Acts as a liaison to various departments by sharing expert knowledge of scheduling, registration, insurance, pre-certification, billing, and other related Revenue Cycle functions. Examples of these departments include, but is not limited to; Information Technology, NGPG, THC, and other Physician Offices.

  • Responsible for the continuing education of all Revenue Cycle staff to include ongoing classroom training sessions, educational updates via staff meetings and other forums, and delivering urgent communication as it relates to system/process anomalies.

  • Serves as the primary contact and support for all Revenue Cycle areas and is expected to resolve real time issues causing delays in patient care or in the billing process.

  • Acts as a partner to the IT department to both escalate and resolve system related concerns and ensure technical training and operational training align appropriately.

  • Assists in  the creation, maintenance, and presentation of all Revenue Cycle operational education material including manuals, newsletters, and education corners.

  • Assists with special projects focused on utilization of Revenue Cycle systems to increase staff efficiency, accuracy, knowledge and skills.

  • Responsible for the daily reconciliation of numerous quality reports and billing edit work queues and meets desired productivity expectations set forth by the department.

  • Analyzes and trends quality reports and work queues in order to provide solid data to Revenue Cycle management; suggests process improvements to eliminate errors and to improve accuracy.

  • Actively participates in all phases of implementation, upgrades, and enhancements to all Revenue Cycle systems thus assuring prompt resolution to  issues or concerns.

  • Completes testing of assigned system modifications and upgrades to ensure there are no downstream anomalies in both Revenue Cycle and clinical systems; identifies errors and aids to implement improvements.

  • Reconciles Help Desk tickets and partners with Information Technology to test and develop new system processes and work flows.

  • In addition to the above criteria, this position will be responsible for and must be proficient in all aspects of the Revenue Cycle Education department in order to provide advanced knowledge and support to each area within the division.
