Job Location: Remote from NY or Chicago
IPH is seeking a highly skilled Communications Manager- Senior with a strong background in brand communications, consumer PR, and media relations. This role will focus on elevating awareness and reputation for multiple IPH brands by driving high‑impact storytelling, media coverage, and integrated communications campaigns.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, can manage several brands simultaneously, and brings a proven track record of successful media pitching. They will play a critical role in shaping narratives, strengthening brand visibility, and supporting enterprise‑wide communications goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Communications & PR
- Develop and execute PR strategies that strengthen brand narratives and increase awareness across multiple IPH brands.
- Create compelling storylines that align with brand positioning, consumer insights, and cultural trends.
- Partner with creative, marketing, and cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated PR initiatives that support brand goals.
- Ensure all communications are consistent with broader corporate messaging and reputation strategy.
- Recommend strategies to differentiate each brand while maintaining alignment with IPH’s overarching brand framework.
Media Relations & Pitching
- Drive proactive media outreach to secure high‑quality placements in consumer, lifestyle, business, and trade outlets.
- Develop pitch angles, lead pitch teams, and maintain strong relationships with reporters, editors, and influencers.
- Draft press releases, talking points, fact sheets, and briefing materials for brand milestones, product moments, or thought leadership opportunities.
- Monitor media coverage, trends, and competitive insights to optimize messaging and opportunities.
- Own daily media report and monthly trends report (provided by vendor).
- Write and edit high‑quality communications materials, brand messaging, executive talking points, and content for multi‑channel programs.
- Support narrative development for campaigns, product awareness efforts, and brand‑building initiatives.
Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Partnerships
- Work closely with Marketing, Product, Legal, People, and Creative teams to execute cohesive communications programs.
- Coordinate with external agencies on campaign development, media outreach, and measurement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in brand communications, consumer PR, or integrated communications roles.
- Proven success pitching media and securing meaningful coverage across consumer, lifestyle, and business outlets.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to turn data and insights into compelling narratives.
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple brands, projects, and stakeholders at once.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and adapting to shifting priorities.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with or within agency environments is a plus.
