We are looking for a Strategy Director to join our dynamic Strategy & Growth team.

This role is crucial in shaping and delivering cutting-edge media strategies and communication plans for our diverse portfolio of clients. You will work closely with the Executive Strategy Director and cross-functional teams, contributing significantly to our vision for comprehensive media excellence and holistic planning across paid, owned, earned, and shared media channels, while driving innovation and measurable growth.

About the role

As a Strategy Director, you will be deeply involved in the strategic process of media and communication planning – from insightful research and conceptual development, focusing on crafting robust and innovative approaches. You will play a key role in leveraging AI tools and WPP's bespoke technology to deliver innovative and effective media solutions that drive measurable outcomes for our clients, with a particular focus on how all media channels work together to create maximum impact. Your day-to-day will involve developing strategic frameworks, collaborating with client teams, and ensuring the highest quality of deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and execute the strategic direction for media strategy and innovation, ensuring comprehensive excellence and driving a truly holistic media approach across paid, owned, earned, and shared channels.
  • Support the Practice Lead for Communication Planning in defining, disseminating, and implementing standardized planning methodologies and frameworks aligned with Nordic and global strategy, with a focus on integrated POES planning.
  • Actively utilize, promote, and integrate AI tools and WPP bespoke technology solutions into all stages of media strategy and planning.
  • Uphold rigorous quality standards for media and communication planning deliverables, ensuring consistency and excellence across all media types.
  • Contribute to and leverage our centralized repository of insights, case studies, and resources to foster organizational learning and innovation.
  • Contribute to WPP Media's thought leadership by sharing expertise and insights internally and externally, particularly on the convergence and interplay of POES.
  • Develop and integrate robust media strategies into client growth planning and new business pitches, ensuring alignment with client business objectives and measurable outcomes through integrated POES solutions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on performance benchmarks for media strategy activities, identifying areas for improvement and innovation in holistic media effectiveness.

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing holistic media strategies across paid, owned, earned, and shared (POES) media channels, with a strong understanding of their interplay.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience in orchestrating integrated campaigns that leverage all relevant media types for maximum impact.
  • Demonstrable experience in leveraging AI tools and/or bespoke technology platforms for media strategy and planning.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to develop and apply strategic frameworks and ensure high-quality deliverables across various client challenges.
