Job Description Summary

The Specialist Software Engineer – Treasury & Tax role provides end-to-end technology and delivery leadership for a portfolio of 15–20 applications supporting Finance Operations, Treasury, and Tax. This role is accountable for application stability, change execution, vendor delivery, and financial management, while also providing hands-on technical leadership where needed.

The position serves as the execution lead and application owner, responsible for driving modernization, automation, and regulatory ready solutions across a largely SaaS and vendor managed ecosystem. Success in this role requires a balance of development experience, people and vendor leadership, budgeting ownership, and strong partnership with Finance, Treasury, and Tax stakeholders.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis and solution design across a portfolio of Finance Operations, Treasury, and Tax applications, translating enterprise architecture and business strategy into executable technical designs
  • Lead vendor and internal delivery resources to work collaboratively with architecture, infrastructure, security, and Finance business partners in an agile delivery environment
  • Recommend technology and platform solutions that balance cost, risk, regulatory requirements, and operational impact across the application portfolio
  • Manage 1520 applications supporting Finance Operations, Treasury, and Tax, with accountability for stability, compliance, and roadmap execution
  • Collaborate with production services to ensure applications receive appropriate operational support, monitoring, and incident resolution
  • Partner with Finance, Treasury, and Tax stakeholders to define and maintain clear functional and technical roadmaps aligned to business and regulatory needs
  • Collaborate with PMO to align intake, funding, annual planning, and delivery commitments across the application portfolio
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation necessary to deliver run and change initiatives
  • Perform solution design and analysis for enhancements, integrations, and automation initiatives; lead design sessions with business, vendors, and technical teams
  • Review vendor deliverables to ensure solutions meet agreed upon requirements, quality standards, and acceptance criteria
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across Finance, Treasury, and Tax platforms, integrations, and automation technologies
  • Leverage vendor platforms, SaaS capabilities, APIs, and automation tools to deliver scalable and compliant solutions with minimal custom development
  • Lead delivery teams including internal staff, contractors, and offshore resources; may have supervisory responsibility over employees
  • Prepare presentations and lead delivery, roadmap, and status meetings with technical teams, business partners, and senior leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience leading enterprise application solutions in regulated environments
  • Six years of experience in enterprise application development, integration, or technical delivery using Java, .NET/C#, or comparable languages relevant to platform and integration enablement
  • Expertise in application architecture and integration frameworks appropriate for SaaS and vendor ecosystems (e.g., REST APIs, JSON/XML, batch processing, secure file transfers)
  • Five years of experience working with data and reporting foundations used in Finance, Treasury, and Tax systems, including relational databases, data modeling, and interface troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of data persistence technologies (relational and document-based) sufficient to support enterprise integrations and reporting needs, without requiring deep specialization in niche NoSQL platforms
  • Three years of experience supporting cloud-based SaaS and PaaS solutions (Azure and/or AWS), with emphasis on integration, identity and access, monitoring, and operational support
  • Experience with modern build, release, and deployment tooling and practices (e.g., Git-based repositories, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, configuration and release management)
  • Experience applying DevOps practices, including automated testing, deployment controls, change management, and coordination with security and risk teams
  • Familiarity with web and portal technologies as needed to support vendor platforms and internal Finance applications, rather than deep front-end engineering specialization
  • Advanced understanding of the full application delivery lifecycle, including run operations, change execution, incident management, and post-release stabilization
  • Strong attention to detail and results orientation, with a customer-focused mindset suited to compliance-driven Finance, Treasury, and Tax environments
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, coordinating across internal teams and vendor partners to deliver outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to complex application ecosystems with multiple integrations and external dependencies
  • Effective technical communication skills, including the ability to present risks, roadmaps, and delivery status to technical, business, and executive audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and drive alignment across business and technology stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize workload and delivery commitments across production support, regulatory timelines, vendor releases, and funded change initiatives under tight deadlines
