Your role and responsibilities

The HR Specialist is a key operational role, responsible for delivering reliable and accurate HR support across the employee lifecycle in a dynamic, multicultural environment. After the TSA (Transition Service Agreement) period, the focus will shift to the whole HR Operations scope, ensuring accurate payroll validation and smooth collaboration with the outsourced payroll provider.

This position is hands-on and service-oriented, ensuring employees and managers receive timely, practical HR support while maintaining compliance with local requirements and company policies across all ABB Robotics locations in South Korea.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid #LI-hybrid

This role is contributing to the Robotics in Korea. As we complete the New Robotics Organisation structure build-up, this position will report to the Global People Operations Manager.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Employee Relations & Manager Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR queries, policies, benefits, and leave requests. Support conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions.

  • Labor-Management Council: Establish regulations for the ‘Labor-Management Council’ and facilitate meetings and foster constructive workplace relations.

  • Conflict & Discipline: Support managers through conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and formal disciplinary actions.

  • Policy Guidance: Guide managers on best practices for team management and policy adherence.

Performance Management & HR Data

  • Administer performance review cycles, guide goal setting, and ensure deadlines. Maintain HRIS data, employee files, and generate HR reports.

Payroll, Compensation & Benefits

  • Validate payroll data, coordinate with providers, and address pay/benefit queries. Assist with annual compensation reviews and benefits administration.

  • Manage statutory four major insurances and retirement pension plans.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation. Ensure compliance with labor laws, audits, and company policies.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Post job ads, coordinate interviews, and manage hiring documentation. Organize onboarding and ensure smooth integration for new recruits.

Learning & Development

  • Schedule training sessions, maintain records, and assess effectiveness. Identify skill gaps and recommend development initiatives.

  • Mandatory Training: Manage and implement trainings required under Korean law, such as sexual harassment prevention and personal information protection training.

Culture & Engagement

  • Support employee engagement programs, events, surveys, and recognition initiatives. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Leave & Accommodation Administration

  • Manage leave requests per provincial legislation and company policy. Support disability and accommodation processes.

Qualifications for the role 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human resources, Business Administration, or any related field.

  • Minimum 7 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in an MNC environment.

  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Business‑level English communication (verbal and written) is required, with native fluency in Korean

  • Experience working in a matrixed or global organization is preferred.
