Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Cyber Technology Office builds and runs the technology that keeps Canada's largest bank and its customers safe. We are looking for a strategist who will help shape and drive the future direction of our security organization. In this role, you will work alongside senior leaders to create a clear, forward-looking strategy that spans every area we protect, from cloud and networks to applications and devices. You will turn complex industry trends and internal data into smart decisions and compelling stories, ensuring our security investments deliver real value and enable the bank's growth and innovation ambitions.

What will you do?

  • Drive the creation and ongoing refinement of our multi-year security strategy, ensuring it connects clearly to the bank's broader business and technology goals.
  • Partner with leaders across the security organization to build, align, and maintain a shared roadmap across all of our security areas.
  • Monitor industry and market trends, emerging threats, and new technologies, and translate what matters into practical strategic recommendations.
  • Build and grow our strategy web portal, creating an engaging, easy-to-navigate home for our vision, plans, and progress.
  • Analyze data from across our teams and platforms to support clear, evidence-based decisions and measure how well we are delivering on our goals.
  • Communicate complex technical topics to senior executives in plain, business-focused language, supported by clear visuals and storytelling.
  • Develop presentations, narratives, and visuals that make our strategy intuitive and inspiring for both technical and non-technical audiences.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Several years of experience in security, technology, or a related field, with a strong grasp of core security areas such as cloud, network, application, and device protection.
  • A solid technical foundation that allows you to understand a large, complex bank's technology environment and engage credibly with engineering and architecture teams.
  • Proven experience building and shaping strategy, roadmaps, or transformation plans in a large organization.
  • Strong skills working with data to find insights and guide decisions.
  • Excellent executive communication and visual storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into clear business value.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience designing or managing a website, portal, or similar digital experience.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST CSF or MITRE ATT&CK.
  • A recognized security designation such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP.
  • Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.

What's in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses, flexible benefits, and competitive compensation.
  • The chance to make a real and lasting impact on the security of Canada's largest bank.
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, and high-performing team at the heart of our security strategy.
  • Leaders who support your growth through coaching and meaningful development opportunities.
  • Opportunities to take on progressively greater responsibility and challenging, high-visibility work.
  • Exposure to senior executives and leaders across the global security organization.
