Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Engineer to design and build a comprehensive set of management and observability tools for operating Aerospike’s distributed database at enterprise scale.
You will develop solutions to monitor, manage, and administer clusters, users, and security, delivering a frictionless experience that integrates seamlessly with leading enterprise IT environments—both on-premises and in the cloud.
The ideal candidate has experience building large-scale systems and is familiar with modern monitoring, logging, and management technologies used in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement tools for cluster monitoring, administration, and lifecycle management
- Build integrations with enterprise observability stacks and cloud platforms
- Develop secure and scalable solutions for user and access management
- Collaborate with database core teams to deliver end-to-end management workflows
- Ensure reliability, performance, and usability of management tools at scale
Required Skills & Experience
- 4–6 years of software development experience
- Proficiency in at least one language: Python, Java, Node.js, or Go
- Experience with monitoring systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo
- Exposure to cloud observability platforms like New Relic, Datadog, Grafana Cloud
- Experience with log pipelines and analysis tools: Splunk, Logstash, Fluentd, Sumo Logic
- Knowledge of distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry, Jaeger)
- Background in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering
Nice to Have
- Experience with distributed NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with systems like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka
- Experience with Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform
