Regional Lead – Market Access & Health Economics (Cardiac Rhythm Management)

What you’ll do
Shape access strategy at regional scale
- Lead the regional market access strategy, translating global priorities into actionable plans at country level
- Define access pathways including coverage, reimbursement, coding, procurement, and evidence requirements
- Ensure market access is fully embedded into short-, medium-, and long-term business planning
Influence senior leadership & global direction
- Serve as a key member of the regional leadership team and advisor to the divisional leadership
- Bring together insights from across countries to inform global strategy
- Identify risks and opportunities across the region and escalate critical gaps
Lead cross-functional execution
- Coordinate closely with commercial, medical, clinical, regulatory, and public affairs teams
- Establish clear governance, priorities, and decision-making processes
- Prioritize and coordinate health technology assessment submissions and access initiatives across countries
Drive innovation in market access
- Challenge traditional approaches and pilot new access models, such as value-based agreements or innovative procurement approaches
- Engage with payers, assessment bodies, policy influencers, and professional societies
- Represent Abbott in industry and policy discussions
Strengthen capabilities across the region
- Coach and support local teams operating in diverse healthcare systems
- Build market access capabilities through training, tools, and best practice sharing
- Monitor competitor activity, reimbursement decisions, and policy developments to inform strategy
Who you are
Your background includes:
- 10–15+ years in market access, health economics, or pricing and reimbursement in the medical technology sector
- Experience at regional level or in a large and complex country, ready to take on broader geographical scope
- Strong expertise in health technology assessment processes, hospital funding systems, diagnosis-related groups, and tendering
- Proven ability to influence payers, policymakers, and senior internal stakeholders
You bring:
- Strong business acumen and ability to connect access strategies to commercial performance
- Experience leading cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex evidence and policy into business impact
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to challenge, innovate, and drive change
- Cultural agility and ability to work across diverse markets
- Fluency in English (additional languages spoken across Europe, the Middle East, or Africa are a plus)
