Job Description

JLL empowers you to shape a brighter way.

Our people at JLL are shaping the future of real estate for a better world by combining world class services, advisory and technology for our clients. We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people and empowering them to thrive, grow meaningful careers and to find a place where they belong.  Whether you’ve got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you’re looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Vendor Management professional to own and optimize our external partner ecosystem. The ideal candidate brings 5–8 years of experience in the IT industry, with a strong track record of managing multiple vendors across software, hardware, cloud, and managed services. Prior experience in a vendor-side Service Delivery Manager (SDM) role is highly valued, as is a data‑driven mindset with hands‑on data analysis capabilities. You will act as the strategic bridge between the business and technology partners, ensuring performance, compliance, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Strategy & Relationship Management

  • Manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of multiple IT vendors, including software publishers, hardware suppliers, MSPs, and cloud providers.

  • Leverage prior SDM experience to anticipate operational risks, drive service improvements, and hold vendors accountable to SLAs with a deep understanding of service delivery frameworks.

  • Build and maintain executive‑level relationships with vendors to align roadmaps and secure favorable commercial terms.

Performance & Governance

  • Define, track, and report on KPIs and SLAs using a data‑driven approach—analyzing performance trends, identifying root causes of service failures, and driving corrective action plans.

  • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with vendors, supported by quantitative analysis of service levels, incident trends, and financial performance.

  • Mitigate risks related to vendor dependency, security compliance, and business continuity.

Contract & Financial Management

  • Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and amendments with a focus on both cost optimization and service quality.

  • Manage the IT vendor budget; use data analysis to model spend scenarios, identify cost optimization opportunities, and detect billing discrepancies.

  • Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure contracts meet regulatory and security requirements.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Own vendor performance dashboards and executive reports, utilizing tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or SQL to transform raw data into actionable insights.

  • Analyze vendor landscape to identify consolidation opportunities, redundancy, and total cost of ownership (TCO).

  • Use data to support strategic decisions such as insourcing vs. outsourcing, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.

Cross‑functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal IT teams (Infrastructure, Applications, Security) to translate technical needs into vendor scopes of work.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for vendor‑related issues, leveraging both SDM best practices and data to resolve conflicts effectively.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Experience

  • 5–8 years of professional experience in IT vendor management, IT procurement, IT sourcing, or vendor‑side Service Delivery Management.

  • Proven experience managing multiple vendors simultaneously within the IT industry (SaaS, hardware, cloud, or IT services).

  • Demonstrated ability to work with complex contracts, SLAs, and service delivery models.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior Vendor SDM Experience: Background in a Service Delivery Manager role on the vendor side, giving you firsthand insight into how vendors operate, manage SLAs, and handle escalations.

  • Data Analysis Background: Strong proficiency in analyzing large datasets—experience with Excel (advanced), SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools—to drive vendor insights and business decisions.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and enterprise software licensing.

  • Strong commercial acumen with negotiation skills and familiarity with contract fundamentals.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to bridge technical and business audiences.

  • Proficiency with vendor management systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, ServiceNow) is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or equivalent experience.

  • Certifications such as ITILCIPSCPSM, or Certified Vendor Management Professional (CVMP) are highly desirable.

Key Success Factors

  • Vendor Consolidation & Optimization: Ability to rationalize vendor portfolios using data analysis to reduce costs and complexity.

  • Service Delivery Excellence: Leverage SDM experience to improve vendor responsiveness and reliability.

  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Translate complex vendor data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
