What you'll be doing
As Senior Director, AI Enablement Development Manager within the AI Platforms & Solutions team, you'll be the operational backbone for CIBC's Artificial Intelligence (CAI) platform and its ecosystem of sub-products. Reporting to the VP, Enterprise AI Platforms & Solutions, you'll lead multiple development and QA teams to deliver, evolve, and optimize the CAI platform, including products such as Smart Library, Teams Notetaker, Agent Framework, Notebook/RAG engine, eCRM/Salesforce integrations, Outlook plugin, and Admin Console. You'll manage the full software development lifecycle, drive engineering standards, and ensure the platform meets enterprise needs for reliability, scalability, and performance. Your role will involve hands-on leadership, managing internal and vendor teams, balancing competing priorities, and fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement. You'll also oversee release and quality governance, vendor relationships, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

How you'll succeed
- CAI Platform Delivery & Roadmap Management – Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for the CAI platform and its sub-products, maintaining alignment with enterprise priorities and the VP's strategic vision.
- Engineering Leadership & Team Development – Directly manage and mentor multiple squads of developers, QA engineers, and technical leads, fostering a high-performance, accountable engineering culture.
- Priority & Change Management – Serve as the primary intake and triage point for development requests, making real-time prioritization decisions and managing scope changes with transparency.
- Release & Quality Governance – Oversee release management processes, ensure comprehensive QA coverage, and drive incident response and defect resolution in coordination with DevOps and InfoSec teams.
- Vendor & Partner Management – Manage delivery relationships with external vendors, ensuring adherence to commitments, quality standards, and timelines.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Enablement – Partner with product leadership and other teams to translate business use cases into technical requirements, provide regular status reporting, and support enablement activities.
Who you are
- You’re a software engineering leader and bring 10+ years of software development management, including 5+ years leading multiple concurrent product/platform teams. You have deep technical expertise; your background includes AI/ML platform development, LLM integrations, or enterprise SaaS product delivery, and you have managed dev and QA teams in Agile/Scrum environments. You understand regulated environments. Financial services experience is preferred, and you are familiar with technology risk, compliance, and governance frameworks.
