Job Description

The Assistant Director for the Office for Students with Disabilities position directs, coordinates and implements quality services to students with disabilities to allow them equal access to all college programs and activities on the Cambridge and Rapids campuses of Anoka Ramsey Community College. The Assistant Director for the Office for Students with Disabilities serves as the main service provider for students with disabilities, coordinates the delivery of accommodations, and is the resource to the campus community on disability and accessibility related issues this position assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure equal access for students with disabilities in compliance with Section 504 of the rehabilitation act and ADA laws.

Salary Range:

$28.26 - $41.43/hour

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressively responsible experience supporting students or clients in disability services, accessibility services, case management, counseling, student affairs, social services, or a socially related function. A master's degree may substitute for 18 months of experience, a bachelor's degree may substitute for 12 months of experience, and an associate’s degree may substitute for six months of experience.

  • Commitment to working with and fostering an inclusive environment for a diverse population of individuals.

  • Communication skills to effectively interpret and explain complicated federal, state, and local policies to a variety of constituents.

  • Demonstrated experience handling requests, assessing and implementing accommodations for individuals with documented disabilities.

  • Experience developing disability awareness for families and staff promoting inclusion, community openness and retention for students with disabilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and data integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the issues affecting students with disabilities and resources available to students

  • Proven ability to create targeted interventions and evaluate their effectiveness using data and formed approaches

  • Experience using case management or accommodations management systems and productivity tools (AIM, Navigate, Starfish, etc.)
