This Position reports to:
Lead Business Area ManagerIn this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and manages the overall Motion India business for Chennai Cluster including Sri Lanka. Responsible for overall business budget, division-wise sales target achievement, customer relationships, and team leadership across all MO divisions within the cluster. Directs team leaders and front-end sales personnel across divisions to ensure consistent delivery of business objectives and exceptional customer satisfaction.

This role is contributing to the Motion business for IEC Low Voltage Division in Chennai, India
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Defines key sales targets (sales, revenue , collection etc) and establishes appropriate metrics and measurement tools to monitor the performance.
- Anticipates and identifies the shortfalls in performance and takes appropriate remedial actions, proactively.
- Identifies and evaluates new opportunities with existing and potential customers & channel partners, determines plans for implementation, and allocates required resources.
- Plans and executes customer surveys and acts on the survey results to ensure high level of customer satisfaction. Participates in the negotiation of key contracts.
- Identifies, monitors, and maintains/exceeds the sales market price levels, after evaluating the pricing impact on the results with the Product Management team.
- Supports Sales organizations to ensure the achievement of sales volume and product mix targets. Monitors client financial status and reports any changes regarding risk to relevant internal partner teams.
- Identifies and manages potential risks (including cybersecurity) related to contract agreements across customers/channels. Develops, implements, and reviews sales processes and tools, and the related training and development activities.
- Promotes and enables collaboration in the division, across divisions, business areas, and teams to maximize results for ABB.
- Provides guidance to the teams and seeks knowledge for their own development and coaching/mentoring of the teams. Builds effective, competent, and high-performing teams.
- Reviews organizational effectiveness and performs competence assessments and continuous skill upgrades.
Qualifications for the role
- Full - time Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 14+ years of progressive experience in sales management and business leadership
- Minimum 5-7 years in a leadership role managing teams and business P&L
- Experience in industrial/manufacturing B2B business (automation, drives, motors, electrical equipment, etc.)
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Ensures all staff understand and comply with ABB's core values, ethics, and group safety and integrity standards.
- Implements and ensures compliance with ABB code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies, and processes.
