Managing Principal – Financial Services (Malaysia)

You will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, expanding strategic client relationships, and shaping Capco’s market presence in Malaysia, while providing executive oversight to complex programmes delivered by our consulting teams.
Role Overview
As a Managing Principal, you will be accountable for business development, account growth, and senior client relationships, while ensuring the successful governance and oversight of major transformation programmes across the financial services sector.
You will operate with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, combining commercial ownership with thought leadership and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth (Primary Focus)
- Own and grow a portfolio of strategic client relationships across banking, capital markets, wealth, asset management and/or insurance
- Originate new consulting opportunities, shape client demand, and convert pipeline into sustainable revenue streams
- Develop and execute account growth strategies, including cross‑sell and upsell opportunities
- Represent Capco at senior client forums, industry events, and within C‑suite conversations
- Collaborate with regional and global leadership to scale offerings and capabilities in Malaysia
Executive Delivery Oversight (Secondary Focus)
- Provide executive‑level oversight for complex, multi‑stream consulting programmes
- Ensure delivery quality, commercial performance, and client satisfaction across engagements
- Act as a senior escalation point, supporting programme recovery or risk mitigation where required
- Work closely with Principals, Directors, and Senior Consultants to ensure effective delivery governance
Leadership & Talent Development
- Act as a mentor and role model for senior consulting talent
- Build high‑performing leadership teams and succession pipelines
- Contribute to Capco’s culture of feedback, collaboration, and professional growth
Skills & Experience
- 12+ years of experience in management consulting or advisory, preferably within financial services
- Proven track record of originating and growing consulting revenue (new logos and/or account expansion)
- Strong network and credibility with senior stakeholders (C‑suite / ExCo level)
- Experience overseeing large‑scale transformation programmes across banking, insurance, or capital markets
- Commercial acumen, with the ability to balance growth, margin, and delivery excellence
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence operating at board and executive level
- Strong understanding of delivery governance models (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid approaches)
- Fluent in English; additional regional language capabilities are an advantage
