We are currently recruiting a Head of PMO to join our Major Projects team. This role can be based out of our Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney office. The Head of PMO will drive project management capability to achieve and maintain competitive advantage through excellence in customer project management, ensuring strong commercial and financial outcomes.

What will you be doing?

  • Proactively drive safety and quality performance across the project portfolio.

  • Establish and promote a service-minded culture with outside-in thinking, driving the adaptation of best practices related to customer journey and customer experience.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making to develop and implement a strategy for Major Projects that is aligned with the KONE’s overall vision and its current and long-term business objectives.

  • Measure, monitor and support project portfolio planning, forecasting and execution - identifying improvement opportunities and driving actions to improve business performance.

  • Lead and develop the PMO team (if applicable) and project management professionals to achieve budget, margin, safety, quality and customer satisfaction targets.

  • Work closely with delivery operations leaders to ensure consistent application of project management policies, processes and tools.

  • Own the Major Project management governance model by reviewing, updating and deploying across KONE Australia & NZ.

  • Intervene in underperforming or at-risk projects to drive corrective actions on cost, schedule, cash flow and margin.

What are we looking for? 

  • Minimum 10 years of related experience, with at least 3 years as a PMO or Operations Manager for large-scale projects.

  • Knowledge of construction industry contracts & business practices.

  • Strong financial acumen with proven experience driving margin performance, variation orders and cash flow outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage project financial forecasting, cost control, risk and opportunity conversion.

  • Understanding of installation methods and site management.

  • Comfortable working in a matrix environment.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders and develop strong collaboration to move projects forward.

  • Ability to coach and develop Project Managers / Directors.

  • Experience using project management tools.
