About the role
- Drive the strategic direction, management, and execution of the Federal Employee and Uniformed Service engagement, relationship and brand awareness activities for items such as national and community organizations, local outreach efforts and events, and Plan Uniformed Service related
- Represents, educates, and presents on behalf of the Federal Employee Program awareness and outreach efforts throughout the Uniformed Service event opportunities, strategically prioritizing events and engagements to drive maximal value to the Plan.
- Manage all things related to the associated Advisory Boards and consultants inclusive of procurement, contracts, budget, invoicing, meeting planning /facilitation, annual activity planning, relationship manager and main point of contact.
- Develops quantifiable relationship building efforts throughout the Federal Employee and Uniformed Service active duty family and retiree communities.
- Lead and manage a team with the aim of driving effective performance management, fostering professional growth, and creating a positive and inclusive work environment. This role is dedicated to utilizing strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and inspire team members, ensuring they are aligned with and committed to achieving the organization’s goals.
- Serves as subject matter expertise for Uniformed Service materials that are created and produced through our internal and external partners
The posting range for this position is:
$113,008.00-$162,551.28
Qualifications:
Education
- Required Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, New Media or related field; or equivalent work experience
Experience
- Required 7+ Years in the Uniformed Services, ideally retired at a rank of E-8, O-5, or above, or in a senior civilian role serving the military community
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in project management, with a focus on aligning and integrating key messages through collaboration with business partners.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of crafting and implementing communications that support business objectives.
- Skilled in presentation and relationship management, interacting with BCBSA and Plan staff at multiple levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledgeable about Tricare, Military retiree systems, and the needs of active duty members.
- Understanding of marketing strategies, especially in healthcare.
- Advanced analytical and reporting skills to guide resource investment decisions.
Extra Posting Information:
- Seven or more years in the Uniformed Services, ideally retired at a rank of E-8, O-5, or above, or in a senior civilian role serving the military community.
- Background in communication and marketing, preferably within the healthcare sector. Proven experience in external relations with military families from all branches.
- Industry experience, particularly in marketing/sales support within health insurance, consultancy, brokerage, or financial services

We may ultimately pay more or less than the hiring range and this hiring range may also be modified in the future. A candidate’s position within the hiring range may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for annual bonus incentive pay.
