Job Description

WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It’s at the core of why we do what we do at ALO—it’s our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That’s the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

OVERVIEW

As a Store Communications Intern at ALO, you’ll partner closely with the Retail Operations team and key business partners on a project to ensure our store teams have easy access to accurate, current, and well‑written policy and process documentation and tools. This role is designed for a candidate who is passionate about making jobs easier for frontline teams, is a strong writer and communicator, and has a fierce eye for detail. This is not traditional technical writing - success in this role means understanding how store teams actually work and documenting processes in a clear, practical, and usable way.

This role provides hands-on experience in documentation, stakeholder interviewing, and building scalable tools for global retail teams.

The ALO internship program starts June 8th and ends July 31st. Interns will work 40 hours per week from our Beverly Hills HQ.

  • Update current store documents, revising for readability, grammar, and accuracy, and transition into the most current format template ensuring consistency and revision hygiene.
  • Review, curate, and update the store digital library and propose the most effective organization and file structure to ensure a great user experience across multiple audiences, markets, and countries.
  • Present ongoing status updates to stakeholders and leadership, with support from the Retail Operations team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing or just graduated with a BA or MA in Communications, Business, Education/Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Ability to connect with and effectively communicate to multiple audiences via written communications, graphics, job aids, or other media.
  • Ability to implement structure in a fast-paced environment working across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong visual or structural thinker with a knack for content organization and good instincts around the best ways to tailor method and format to message and audience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Canva, plus a working knowledge of Excel or Smartsheet.
  • Familiarity with retail and/or operations is a plus.

The compensation for this position is $25 per hour.
