JOB Description

As a member of the Jabil Design Services Product Validation (PV) team, to define, refine and design the firmware (FW) test strategies, test case and automation test solution for next generation server products. This role involves a large amount of communication with both the JDS development team, located in Taiwan, and a US-based architecture team.

Job Requirements of the Senior Product Validation Engineer:

• BS degree in Computer Science, Compute Engineering or similar
• 6+ years of server test experience (OS, HW Compatibility, BIOS, UEFI, BMC). Specifically in BMC and/or BIOS development validation.
• Strong understanding of OpenBMC architecture
• Experience with OpenBMC community automation framework (Robot Framework)
• Familiar with BMC features such as power management, firmware update, sensor monitoring
• Experience in test automation methodologies, with the ability to define strategies and design scalable, reusable solutions through logical and architectural thinking
• Experience working with automation development team to design FW test automation solutions.
• Experience with Jenkins for automation execution and pipeline integration
• Understanding of version control and automation deployment best practices (CI/CD)
• Experience in AI prompting / GenAI-assisted automation
• Experience working with FW development team.
• Work with minimum supervision
• Broad knowledge of server infrastructure and technologies
• Ability to anticipate problems proactively and take appropriate actions to mitigate impact
• Good communication in both Chinese and English
• Flexible and resilient, comfortable with ambiguity, adaptable to a rapidly-change environment and open to new concepts and/or processes
• Good problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Product Validation Engineer:

• Technology investigations for Next Gen products.
• Synthesize feature requirements from industry, system design and FW technical documents into testable cases
• Server FW feature test case creation and maintain.
• Deliver to the defined FW test strategy
• Critical FW feature design defect analyze, reproduce, and develop corrective action.
• Hands on project execution
• Assist Test Lead on Test Case and Test Plan creation
• Assist Test Lead on basic test scope sizing
• Create & follow-up all defect life cycle by using bug tracking tools
• Prioritize test in daily work base and achieve project milestones
