Hours of Work: Up to 25 hours weekly between Monday and Thursday, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

FILING DEADLINE: This position will remain open until June 24, 2026, at 11:59pm.

INTRODUCTION: Human Resources will screen applications and supplemental questionnaires. Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements will be forwarded to the hiring department for further review. Those who possess the strongest skills and experience will be invited by the Hiring Department for an interview.

NOTE: The successful candidate will be required to pass a drug screening and a background check.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: Assist staff in conducting field surveys for plants and wildlife, restoration activities, and education and outreach at the Las Vegas Wash and Warm Springs Natural Area. Willing to participate in wildlife surveys and other activities that include early morning and late-night hours. Able to organize and input survey data in spreadsheets and assist in developing reports.

GENERAL PURPOSE: This position supports a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in service to the Water Resources Department. The S&S Division oversees restoration, monitoring and education activities at the Las Vegas Wash and Warm Springs Natural Area.

ELIGIBILITY/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Biology/Environmental Science or a closely related field

Current enrollment with a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (undergraduate level) or 3 credit hours per semester (graduate level)

Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher

Available to work up to 25 hours weekly

A valid Nevada driver’s license

Legal right to work in the US, including authorization to work off-campus
