Position: Engineering Rep (Electric and Gas Distribution Mapping Specialist)

The Gas and Electric GIS Mapping Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and analyzing accurate geospatial data supporting the safe, reliable operation of utility infrastructure. This role involves mapping gas and electric distribution and transmission assets, ensuring data integrity across GIS systems, and supporting engineering, field operations, and regulatory compliance through high‑quality mapping. The position requires strong attention to detail, technical GIS expertise, and an understanding of utility network models to translate complex asset data into reliable, actionable maps and datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electric and gas distribution mapping and maintenance.

  • Review and process electric and gas mapping corrections received from field crews to ensure map accuracy.

  • Review as‑built construction prints and update system maps accordingly.

  • Maintain accurate electric and gas distribution data using ArcFM / GIS software.

  • Must successfully complete the Engineering Representative Training Program.  The trainee will be required to pass testing after completion of each of the 6 classroom modules. 

Position Requirements 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. 

  • Successful completion of High School algebra or above with a grade of "C" or above required. 

  • Satisfactory completion of courses with a grade C or better in D.C. and A.C. electricity or the equivalent from an accredited university, college or junior college required. 

  • 1 year experience working with electricity may be considered in lieu of D.C. & A.C. course. 

**If selected, applicants will be asked to provide High School and/or College or Junior College transcripts. 

Hourly Pay:

Step 1 - 31.11 USD

Step 1 (b) - 32.11 USD

Step 2 - 33.11 USD

Step 2 (b) - 34.16 USD

Step 3 - 35.21 USD

Step 4 - 37.24 USD

Step 5 - 39.26 USD

Step 6 - 41.36 USD

Step 7 - 44.34 USD

**Please note that the starting hourly pay for this position is at the Step 1 level displayed above and below. Pay progression is outlined above.

Hourly Pay:

Grade Step BB 015 Step 1 of 2 - 31.11 USD

Grade Step BB 015 Step 2 of 2 (Top Step) - 32.11 USD
