The Data Foundation Technical Architect is a pre-sales customer-facing enterprise domain expert applying broad technical skills, with industry knowledge and deep business acumen, supporting sales teams in developing value propositions that align to our customers’ business strategies on agentic transformation and cloud adoption. The Data Foundation Technical Architect is a subject matter expert in one or more categories that may include: business strategy, application architecture, data & information, integration, security, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, distributed platforms, and analytics. With a solid blend of technical and sales skills, the Data Foundation Technical Architect uses a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements.The Data Foundation Technical Architect determines which Salesforce and third party technologies to leverage in customer driven architectures, based upon product knowledge, industry experience, industry standard integration frameworks and Salesforce Architecture methodologies.With a broad IT background including solution architecture, technical architecture, software/systems engineering, cloud computing, and governance, the Data Foundation Technical Architect leads key discussions and considerations around change programs from both a business and technical perspective.
The Data Foundation Technical Architect helps the sales teams develop specific, repeatable propositions and go to market strategies.The Data Foundation Technical Architect also participates in the delivery of solution best practices, reference architectures, educational sessions and industry summits to existing customers, partners and to internal audiences.
Baseline Requirements:
Ability to understand business & IT department requirements, translate those business needs into a compelling solution, and present your recommendations to executive, technical, and business audiences.
Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications and their delivery
Some coding experience and a willingness to work with code (Apex, Node, Go, R, Java or C#, JavaScript, python, Ruby, etc.)
Database and data management fundamentals
Web and mobile application development and architecture
Application lifecycle management
Integration principles and tools
Enterprise data management tools and methods
Process orchestration
Principles of network, application, and information security
Strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication and relationship skills.
Strategic problem solver, thought leadership and comfort communicating with executive audiences.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to support multiple, concurrent projects.
Lifelong learner, inquisitive, practical, and passionate about technology and sharing knowledge.
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, other STEM degrees or equivalent work experience. Graduate study a plus.
Hyperscalers: Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or OCI would be preferred.
Informatica IDMC: This includes knowledge of Informatica capabilities along with common practices around Data Warehousing, Data Engineering, and Data Management.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience working as an architect, solution engineer, IT consultant or developer in a customer facing role that provided differentiated software technology solutions. We are open to a variety of backgrounds.
Experience in roles that required working hands-on to build, implement, administrate, or maintain enterprise software (e.g. software engineer, implementation architect, integration architect, or similar).
Understanding of data strategy, risk mitigation, compliance and security.
Experience with design thinking, persona-based discovery or other innovation techniques.
Knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Salesforce Certifications and/or Trailhead Superbadges
Designing Enterprise Agentic Systems (AI & Data Capabilities)
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and delivering AI-powered enterprise solutions, with a focus on reliability, governance, and real-world applicability—not just experimentation.

Agentic System Design:
Ability to design and implement multi-agent architectures that operate across fragmented enterprise systems, where agents can reason, act, and collaborate to complete business workflows.LLM + Deterministic Orchestration:
Strong understanding of when to use large language models versus deterministic logic (APIs, workflows, rules engines), and how to combine both to achieve reliable, cost-effective outcomes.Real-Time Data Grounding:
Experience integrating AI systems with live enterprise data (via APIs, event streams, or data platforms), ensuring outputs are contextually accurate and not reliant on static or stale knowledge.Retrieval & Context Engineering (RAG):
Ability to design retrieval-augmented systems that provide relevant, secure, and scoped context to AI models, with attention to latency, accuracy, and data access controls.Governance, Security & Auditability:
Understanding of how to design AI systems with enterprise-grade controls, including identity propagation, data access policies, audit trails, and mechanisms to trace and debug agent decisions.AI Architecture & Integration:
Experience integrating LLMs and agent frameworks into enterprise environments, including API gateways, middleware (e.g., MuleSoft or similar), and model-serving infrastructure.Prompt & Interaction Design:
Proficiency in structuring prompts and interaction patterns to guide model behavior, including techniques such as few-shot prompting, tool usage, and response validation.Platform Ecosystem (Salesforce & Beyond):
Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce (e.g., Agentforce, Data Cloud, Flow) and how they integrate with broader enterprise ecosystems (e.g., Informatica, hyperscalers).Cost & Performance Optimization:
Ability to reason about token usage, latency, and scaling trade-offs, and design architectures that balance performance, cost, and user experience.
