Job Description:

Position Overview:

Seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout. Must demonstrate strong leadership, project management expertise, and ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

 Project Leadership - Manage overall construction operations, coordinate all trades, and serve as primary point of contact for owners, architects, and stakeholders

 Budget Management - Control project costs, review change orders, manage contingencies, and provide regular financial reporting to ensure projects stay within approved budgets

 Schedule Oversight - Develop and maintain master schedules, coordinate subcontractor activities, and implement recovery plans to meet project milestones

 Quality Control - Establish and enforce quality standards, conduct regular inspections, and ensure work meets specifications and industry standards

 Safety Management - Implement comprehensive safety programs, conduct safety meetings, ensure OSHA compliance, and maintain accident-free work environments

 Contract Administration - Manage subcontractor agreements, process payments, review submittals, and handle contract compliance issues

 Risk Management - Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and manage insurance and bonding requirements

 Team Coordination - Lead project team including superintendents, engineers, and support staff while fostering collaborative relationships

 Client Relations - Maintain strong owner relationships, conduct progress meetings, and provide regular project updates and communications

 Regulatory Compliance - Ensure all work meets building codes, permit requirements, and local regulations through coordination with authorities

 Preconstruction Services - Participate in design reviews, value engineering, constructability analysis, and bid management processes

 Documentation Management - Maintain project records, daily reports, meeting minutes, and ensure proper project closeout documentation

 Subcontractor Management - Select, manage, and coordinate multiple subcontractors ensuring performance, quality, and schedule compliance

 Problem Resolution - Address construction issues, resolve conflicts, and implement solutions to keep projects moving forward

 Technology Integration - Utilize project management software, BIM coordination, and digital tools for efficient project delivery

 

Required Qualifications:

 Experience - Minimum 7+ years construction management experience with increasing responsibility on commercial, industrial, or institutional projects

 Project Size - Experience managing projects ranging from $10M to $100M+ with complex coordination requirements

 Education - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field

 Leadership - Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple stakeholders effectively

 Financial Acumen - Strong understanding of construction finance, cost control, and budget management

 Communication Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication for client presentations and stakeholder management

Preferred Qualifications: • Professional certifications (CCM, PMP, LEED AP) • Experience with design-build, CM at-risk, or IPD project delivery methods • Experience with major project types (healthcare, education, commercial, industrial)
