About the role

Established Chemical and Materials Engineering professional. Conducts chemical and materials engineering activities in support of objectives and goals. Develops new materials and chemical manufacturing processes, monitors material performance, and designs layout of equipment and arrangement of operations.

Job Responsibilities  

  • Highly motivated, hands on materials engineering needed to investigate the various Product applications of Carrier . The materials engineer will coordinate projects with development, manufacturing, and purchasing in order to understand the application of products within the Carrier portfolio. In addition this individual will support and drive cost reduction projects and perform laboratory analysis on materials corrosion & coating. 
  • The candidate will be responsible for identifying and evaluating state-of-art, cost effective, robust and reliable Materials technology to support improved quality and robustness of Carrier products.  
  • He/she will be a key member of a core R&D Materials Technology team who will work closely with divisional engineering and supplier partners to select and qualify materials & process(Corrosion & Coating). Emphasis will be placed on a balanced approach employing a practical cost effective solution supported by and laboratory results.  
  • Defines, documents and evolve best practice. Provides training and mentoring multiple team members, constantly working hard to broaden team’s technical capability.  
  • Goes above and beyond basic requirements to support their own team and others, tackles hard problem to solve customer issues. 
  • Other work items arranged by supervisor. 

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

  • Education: Master or above in Materials Science or Engineering.  
  • Abilities/Qualifications  
  • Major in Materials Science or Engineering, 3+ years of work experience. Experience/Knowledge in the following areas would be highly desirable: 
  • Aluminum & Copper corrosion & protection 
  • Electro-chemical 
  • Corrosion lifetime modelling 
  • Coating & Plating (Process, testing) 
  • Metallurgy 
  • Mechanical background  
  • Problem Solving 
  • Failure analysis (Corrosion) Experience is preffered 
  • Hands-on and can-do, self motivated individual, good at thinking & analysis, capable of communicating with all levels of the organization, especially technical communication with factory & suppliers.
