We are looking for a Inventory Control Team Lead to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to Hiring Manager title and based in Newark, DE. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining on-the-floor Material Handling activities while ensuring that they are performed in a safe manner and in accordance with EHS policies and procedures
- Ensure that all quality requirements are met and that all team members are adhering to these requirements daily
- Answer technical questions as they arise and aide in maintaining & restoring process flow
- Oracle transactions and IOTs for material movement between plants and processes
- Provide updates on findings with engineering and manufacturing teams
- Cycle counts and inventory management
- Create, document, and sustain standardized work practices
- Train and mentor technical team members using a hands-on approach to ensure the team members are able to learn the techniques required to troubleshoot
- Report attendance, quality, or performance issues to the Supervisor.
- Responsible for running the material handling team from a process standpoint and communicating issues with the supervisor/manager as required.
- Create, document, and sustain standardized work practices
- Identify non-value added waste within the process and recommend cost effective solutions to eliminate waste
- Assist in creation of Yamazumi and in line set up
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma required, AA degree preferred
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate cross-functionally
- Demonstrated leadership skills to motivate and lead teams
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using an ERP system (example Oracle) to manage inventory data
- Highly motivated self-starter and team player
- Must demonstrate safe work practices and attention to detail
- Familiar with lean manufacturing terminology principles
- Experience creating standardized work
- Experience completing station audits
- Experience creating Yamazumi and line set up
- Experience completing process technician responsibilities preferred
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Must be flexible to work fluctuating schedules if needed
- Demonstrates competency in written and verbal English communications to understand safety protocols, hazard communications, and standard operational procedures (SOPs) required to ensure the safety of the employee and others on the manufacturing floor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shift
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 25–50 lbs
- Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift
- Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials
- Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff
- Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots).
